Waipahu High School Army JROTC Paddling Team earn spot in Oahu Interscholastic Association Junior Varsity Championships

WAIPAHU, HI — The Marauder Battalion takes to the Sea! Our Army JROTC cadets took their leadership skills and work ethic to the water in support of the School paddling team earning them 1st place in one of the regatta races and a spot in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Junior Varsity Championships. In the Junior Varsity team paddlers: Cadet David Kaleikini-Lospoc– 1st Seat Pacer; consistent and strong pacer. Cadet Mykah Sandoval Talaro– 6th Seat Steersman, JV Co-Captain, calm and collected, who steered the team to JV Championship Finals. On the Varsity team paddlers: Cadet Yanni Caballero – 2nd Seat Caller/5th Seat Powerhouse the steady and reliable powerhouse and caller for OIA regatta races. Cadet Benjamin Brown – 2nd Seat Caller/3rd Seat Powerhouse; all-rounder and the jokester of the team, a vital powerhouse for the Na’Opio regattas races. Cadet Isaac Lilomaiava – 5th Seat Powerhouse, confident and cool comedian, another vital powerhouse for the Na’Opio regatta races. Last but not least Cadet Keziah Christie Ancheta – 5th Seat Powerhouse; confident and always-cheerful, an essential powerhouse for the Na’Opio regatta races!
