Thomas Jefferson High School Army JROTC win big at the 5th Brigade Drill Competition

Submitted by: 1SG (Ret.) Cedric Brown

The Thomas Jefferson corps of Cadets’ journey began with many challenges that attempted to derail their aspirations for Drill Teams. Still, their passion and perseverance again placed them in a winning position at the 5th BDE Drill competition. The motto of the Crimson Brigade is “one team, one fight,” which they live by. The Team, led by Cadet LTC Skye Lumbreras, utilized her leadership principles to keep the new cadets on course in adversity. To keep our young leaders on the path to success, school assistance, and family sacrifice are essential. After many hours of practice, the Thomas Jefferson Crimson Brigade Drill Team’s execution was flawless. The Thomas Jefferson Unarmed Team kept the winning tradition alive, taking first place in Inspection, first place in Regulation, second place in Color Guard, seventh place in Exhibition, and second place overall. The next destination is Daytona Beach, Florida, for the Nationals. Thomas Jefferson’s Mustang Battalion cadets in San Antonio, Texas, are ready for the challenge.
