1st Tony Cornelius Raider Competition at Spring Hill HS
Four years after his passing his vision and dream of having a completed obstacle course, to host raider competitions became a reality.
On Saturday 28 October, 16 teams from 10 different JROTC programs, consisting of Army, Navy, and Air Force programs, from all around the Middle Tennessee area, descended on Spring Hill HS to compete in the 1st Annual LTC Tony Cornelius Raider competition.
LTC Cornelius’ vision was to have an obstacle course that would have two teams competing side by side, so the course was designed with double obstacles.
The first annual competition took that vision a step further and had 4 of the 5 raider events set up side by side, the PTT, CCR, Humvee Load/Push, and of course the Juggernaut-Obstacle Course.
Parent volunteers and Spring Hill HS Cadets volunteered as judges, input scores, kept track of teams, and motivated and encouraged the competing teams.
Every parent in attendance and coach was amazed by the obstacle course, and how professional and motivating the Spring Hill HS Cadets were.
All said they would be returning next year.
The Spring Hill HS Cadets learned the importance of teamwork and planning.
But now turn their full attention to competing in the Army Nationals at Fort Knox.
