Manta Ray Battalion Color Guard Assist in the 80 Years Of Peace in The Pacific Proclamation Ceremony

On March 22, the Manta Ray Battalion Color Guard from Saipan Southern High School Army JROTC supported the 80 Years Of Peace In The Pacific proclamation ceremony held at Aqua Resort Club. The ceremony marked the 80th anniversary of the battle of Saipan and Tinian during World War 2. The Battle of Saipan and Tinian was held to honor those who have served and sacrificed and to remember their service to the freedom that has united our communities.

During the ceremony, the Cadets presented the national colors for the U.S. and the CNMI anthems. C/LTC Mechaella De Ramos, alongside C/CPT Jaron Lifoifoi, read off the proclamation and stated the importance of developing the CNMI after World War Two and rebuilding a community amongst nations.

C/CSM John Brondo, who commanded the Color Guard Team, carried the U.S. flag.  C/CPT Eman Barce, the left guard, and C/CPT Jolash Saluta, the right guard. C/CPT Sean Villaluz carried the CNMI flag. The Senior Army Instructor, Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Richard Basa accompanied the color guard team.
