On Monday, November 11, 2024, SSHS Manta-Ray Battalion Cadets were up bright and early at 7:30 a.m. in their Class B uniform to assist with the Veterans Day Ceremony. Cadets met up at American Memorial Park. From there, they handed out water bottles and programs to distinguished guests. Once the event was over, the cadets assisted by picking up bits of trash and returning the folding chairs.

It was a great event. I got to help by handing out water and programs to the guests, and it was a wonderful experience. It was my first and last Veterans Day Event since I am a Senior.

Veterans Day is where we thank those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. I felt very nervous while handing out the programs to Veterans. My favorite part about the ceremony was the Color Guard Team and the 21-gun salute. It was my first special event, and if I were allowed to do this again, I would do it again.

My thoughts on Veterans Day were hot, but it was great. I enjoyed the event and seeing all the different types of uniforms. The one thing I liked the most was the 21-gun salute because it was interesting. Overall, Veterans Day was good, and I loved the food at the end of the event.

The Veterans Day Ceremony was a successful event. All the cadets enjoyed this incredible ceremony, and at the end, they had a luncheon with the veterans and their families. Thank you to all who served.
