    Legion of Valor

I am so grateful to receive the Legion of Valor Award. First, I would like to give a special thanks to the cadre of the North Crowley Panther Battalion; LTC Sawyer, MSG Bass, and SFC Peavy. At the beginning of my 6th grade year I decided to take a chance and join the JCC program with little information about it. This change might have seemed small but it's something that has made not only a huge impact but a life changing impact. Leaving JCC and Joining JROTC I will admit that I was very nervous and didn't really think I could do it. I had a lot of self-doubt and other personal problems that I allowed to prevent myself from exceling, so joining the big JROTC program as you can probably imagine was really frightening, but thankfully I conquered and finally was open to make mistakes and learn from them and in repeat. After making mistakes after mistakes I got a hang of things and started to build with the cadets around me by teaching them the lessons I learned from the mistakes I've already made. This program has taught me so many skills that will help in the future such as, delegating, attention to detail, time management, discipline, professionalism, adaptation, and thinking on your feet. Having valor in my own words is being tough as stones and no matter the obstacles and the unknown future you will divide and conquer ALL! With that being said I will leave this story with my favorite quote.

"Every adversity, every failure, every heartache, carries with it the seed of a greater or equal benefit" -Napoleon Hill
