INTERLACHEN, FL -- On April 16th the cadets of Interlachen High School Army JROTC Ram Battalion, conducted their service learning project. This year, the Ram Battalion Staff was challenged to come up with a project that would have a direct impact on their local community in the midst of these trying times and they hit the jackpot! In conjunction with parishioners at The First Baptist Church of Interlachen and Feeding Northeast Florida, food and clothing were donated to more than 200 families in need. These cadets left an indelible mark on their community with their high level of discipline, pride and commitment.
“From the beginning stages of the planning process to execution, this was a team effort.” “I am really proud of everyone for their dedication and hard work” said Battalion Commander Michael Slimak.
Said 1st LT Maleki Woodworth (S-3), “I was glad to see that everyone from the Battalion Commander to the privates were actively involved.” “It was all hands on deck!”
CSM Jesse Owens commented that “it feels really good to help our community” and Danecia McClendon (S-5), said “I really feel like we made a difference!”
