Miami Northwestern Senior High School (MNWSHS) JROTC has been integrating STEM, leadership, drill, raider and hands-on learning into its LET programs with the goal of perfectly aligning aviation and soon drones with the newly modernized JROTC curricula. On 7 January 2025 MNWSHS JROTC hosted the Army’s Aviation Adventure Semi Truck. Not only does it expose Cadets to cutting-edge technology and real-world scenarios but also to encourage critical thinking and leadership development, which are crucial for 21st-century skills.
COL Marc A. Garcia the SAI stated “We have to leverage this kind of initiative to further engage Cadets and demonstrate the relevance of STEM in military and civilian career paths, so the AI SFC John B. Oriol made arrangement do it again for this national asset to spend an entire day at the school enroute to the Orange Bowl.
The School Principal Kedler Pouca has asked JROTC to continue incorporating follow-up activities, such as reflective discussions and Cadet led presentations, to reinforce student learning and additionally to explore partnerships with similar mobile exhibits in order to expand access to high-tech simulators to enhance our JROTC program’s appeal and effectiveness.
