CHAPEL HILL, NC — On February 11th, 2023, The Lexington Senior High School, Jacket Battalion Color Guard proudly presents our Nation’s Colors for the Chapel Hill (Tar Heels) Men’s Basketball Game. Our Cadets received many accolades from the Chapel Hill staff for their level of professionalism and performance.  Pictured and feedback are as follows:  Cadet Bahena (commanding) PVT Padial, Cadet King, Cadet Cervantes, and Cadet Vasquez.

Cadet Vasquez – “My experience at the Chapel Hill was amazing! I had never been to such a big color guard and it was so beautiful and fun. This experience has been my most favorite and I could not believe how big the arena was. I saw so much positivity everywhere and I felt welcomed there. Their food was also amazing! Thank you for this amazing opportunity that I’ll NEVER FORGET.”

Cadet Bahena – “It felt like such a privilege to present the colors at UNC. From the moment we stepped foot in the building all the staff were so kind, helpful, and welcoming. Everyone coming together was so magical to see, including the staff and fans who had a role to make the game as best as it can be for the public. Hearing the National Anthem and being able to present the colors of our country is truly an inspiring moment that I will never forget. I’m grateful for this opportunity that only happens only once in a lifetime.”

Cadet Cervantes – “The UNC color guard was an extraordinary event. It was a unique experience that I wish more cadets could have. Presenting our Nation’s colors has always been a great passion of mine. Having the opportunity to do so at a UNC game was chilling and wonderful. I hope to return to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to present the colors again soon. Also, I recently applied and got accepted at UNC which made it even more amazing.”

Cadet Padial – “My experience at Chapel Hill was like none other, to the color guard itself, to getting to meet people there. Everyone there was very kind. My favorite part was probably getting to watch the game and standing on the court.”
