JROTC Director


Colonel Ken Jones

Colonel Ken Jones currently serves as the Director of Army JROTC, United States Army Cadet Command. He earned his undergraduate degree in History and Social Science with certification in secondary education from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1998. He attended US Army Officer Candidate School and was commissioned an Engineer Officer in August 2001. He is a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, The Air Command and Staff College, and the United States Army War College. His command assignments include company command with 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry Division and battalion command with 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry).  His operational deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom 1 (2003), Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006-2007), and Operation Enduring Freedom (2013-2014). Prior to his arrival at Army JROTC, he attended the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA. Colonel Jones’ post graduate education includes a master’s degree in Public Administration from Webster University, a Master of Military Arts and Sciences degree from the Air University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with 2 OLC, the Meritorious Service Medal with 4 OLC, the Army Commendation Medal with 3 OLC, and the OIF and OEF Campaign Medals.
