Cadets from Detroit Public Schools Unite in Reverent Tribute at Wreath Across America

In a poignant alliance, students hailing from Western International and Edwin Denby High Schools Army JROTC within the Detroit Public Schools Community District from 7th Brigade united to honor the 31st annual Wreath Across America event.

On December 16, 2023, National Wreaths Across America Day drew over two million dedicated volunteers nationwide, spanning 4,225 locations across all 50 states, including sea and overseas destinations. Among these, the Cadets from Detroit convened at Holly, Michigan’s Great Lakes Memorial Cemetery, a resting place for 70,000 veterans. In a poignant display of respect, these Cadets ceremoniously adorned thousands of wreaths, further honored by requests to conduct several gravesite ceremonies.

Their participation epitomized the ethos of ‘Remember, Honor, and Teach,’ embodying a collective gratitude and reverence for the countless servicemen and women who have selflessly served our nation.”
