Cadets from Bethel High School and Denbigh High School came together for an unforgettable evening at their Joint Military Ball, held at the stunning Paradise Ocean Club. This annual event celebrated the discipline, leadership, and achievements of the Junior ROTC (JROTC) cadets while fostering camaraderie between the two schools.
Adding to the night’s prestige was the esteemed guest speaker, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Raymond Harris, whose words of wisdom and encouragement resonated deeply with the young cadets. CSM Harris, a highly decorated leader, shared insights from his military career, emphasizing the values of integrity, perseverance, and service. He inspired cadets to strive for excellence, not only in their JROTC programs but also in their future endeavors.
The evening commenced with a formal receiving line, where cadets, instructors, and distinguished guests exchanged greetings. The ceremony continued with the posting of the colors, the POW/MIA remembrance, and the traditional toast to the nation, all underscoring the discipline and respect inherent in military traditions. Following the formal proceedings, cadets enjoyed a delicious dinner while engaging in conversations that reflected on their shared experiences in JROTC. As the night progressed, the event shifted to a lively celebration, with cadets and guests taking to the dance floor to enjoy music, laughter, and camaraderie. For many seniors, the Joint Military Ball marked a pivotal moment in their high school journey, serving as a celebration of their commitment to leadership and service. “Hearing CSM Harris speak tonight was truly inspiring,” said one senior cadet. “It reminded me why I joined JROTC in the first place—to challenge myself, to serve others, and to become a better leader.”
As the evening ended, cadets departed with cherished memories and a renewed sense of motivation. The Joint Military Ball at Paradise Ocean Club was more than just a formal event—it was a tribute to the dedication, unity, and bright futures of the cadets from Bethel and Denbigh High Schools.
