Benson JROTC Drill Teams Place in National Competition at Rocky Mountain National Drill Championship

DENVER, CO — The Benson Cadets marked a new milestone on 15 April competing in the Rocky Mountain National Drill Championships at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado. They competed against 27 of the best JROTC drill teams from across the country.

Placements:
Armed Regulation Drill – Third Place
Color Guard – Varsity II – Third Place
Best Commander Competition – Kinsley Nestroyl – 3rd Place
Unarmed Regulation Drill Team – Placed 8th. (This team was mostly first year marchers who are ninth grade)
Varsity 1 Color Guard – Placed 8th 

On Thursday, April 13th they also had a full day tour of the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado.  As we were walking across the main quadrangle of the Academy, they were treated to a surprise flyover by two F-16 Fighting Falcons. They also were given a guided tour of the academy’s parachute team training facility.
