ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS -- The Chicken Hawk Battalion has been very productive throughout the holidays . They have committed a variety of acts of selfless service, as they perform (or execute) deeds that aid and benefit their community. All the LET 4s in the battalion entered the JROTC essay contest that addressed what selfless service and ethics mean to them, especially during this arduous pandemic. Additionally, demonstrations of selfless service were illustrated, as cadets held a canned food drive competition between three companies, to benefit to Methodist Outreach Ministries (where the Hawk BN donated canned foods and a monetary contribution). Furthermore, on Thanksgiving Day, various cadets volunteered to help different organizations in serving food to the less fortunate citizens in our community. It doesn’t stop here for the Chicken Hawk Battalion because they planned a Secret Santa, which took place on December 21st, for 50 the kindergarten students and their two teachers at the Ulla F. Muller Elementary School. The toys that were left over, the cadets decided to donate them to Human Family Resources.
