On November 6, 2021, the 9th JROTC Battalion held the Route of Valor. The Route of Valor was an event to honor our veterans. We, as a battalion, honor our veterans because we know the service and work they went through to protect the country at all costs. The battalion held this event to show appreciation and gratitude for what veterans have done to protect us and fulfill the needs of our home nation. To do this, cadets manned ten stations from different war periods dressed as veterans where they told their stories in first and third person point of view. The community had the chance to come to the school to learn the stories of lesser known veterans and ask questions about Veterans Day. Our cadets rehearsed before the date and received historical uniforms to fully understand the life and style of our veterans. With this also, we had cadets set out luminaries to honor the veterans and to light the path. The luminaries were decorated by Ansbach’s elementary and middle high school students with patriotic drawings and notes for our veterans. The luminaries lit up the route from the American Legion all the way to Ansbach Middle High School. The American Legion hosted an open house where they served food and beverages to community members and cadets.. Veterans that are in Ansbach attended these events and felt appreciated by our battalion for honoring them and others for their service.
