: Butler JROTC Bulldogs participated in the premier 33rd Annual Charlotte South Park Turkey Trot on the morning of Thanksgiving running in the 5k race. This is one of the largest running events of the year in North Carolina with over 10,000 participants and families supporting the surrounding community. The Bulldogs had an exciting time absorbing the energy in a healthy and fun atmosphere before breaking bread with their families for a Thanksgiving meal. All Cadets finished beating their initial time goal below 24 minutes even while running in a crowd of others uphill and in cold temperatures. C/SGT Micheal Reyes commented “how exciting it was to run in such a huge race with so many people”, he motivated others to push themselves by adding his competitive spirit and finishing first amongst others under 20 minutes.

Registering in the Charlotte Turkey Trot help support funding shoes, socks, and hygiene items being provided to a minimum of 750 Charlotte area children in need. What an awesome way to give of your time, talent, and treasure giving back to the city of Charlotte. Go Bulldogs!!! So proud of our Cadets for volunteering to participate in such a great traditional event.
