MESQUITE, TX - Every Year the Legion of Valor organization presents its Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for Achievement to one cadet out of 4000 nominated cadets. This award was developed by the Legion of Valor, the oldest veterans’ group, in conjunction with officials of all the military services. This year Cadet Major Jesus Nunez Vargas from West Mesquite High School, Mesquite, Texas earned this prestigious award due to his hard work in all classes and being the Battalion Security Officer in JROTC. Academically, he is in the top five percent of all students at West Mesquite. Upon graduation, he plans to go to college to study engineering and will also join the US Army Reserves.
