ST PAUL, NC -- The Cadets of the St Pauls High JROTC Bulldog Battalion have a rich tradition of academic excellence. This year is no exception. Even in the midst of a global pandemic and months of online classroom instruction, the Cadets finds ways to keep their priorities in check.
Two of the Bulldog Battalion Cadets were recently recognized at the Public Schools of Robeson County Students of Excellence Ceremony.
Cadet Corporal Taliya Council was recognized as the Student of Excellence for the Junior Class and Cadet Major Sophia Holloman was recognized as the Student of Excellence for the Senior Class.
Cadet Council is a member of the St Pauls High girls’ basketball team and cross country team. She has been offered to play basketball at UNC Charlotte, East Carolina University, North Carolina A&T, and Howard university. Her future plans are to attend college where she can pursue her love for animals by studying animal science/zoology.
Cadet Holloman is the Bulldog Battalion S1, she is also a member of the Student Government Association, National Beta Club member, and National Honor Society. Cadet Holloman plans Sophia plans to attend college and pursue a degree in Biology and a minor in Microbiology, and obtain her medical degree.
“Both girls have a huge future”, said Major Steve Hill, Senior Army Instructor. “They work so hard to be great students, they deserve to be recognized”.
