MOBILE, AL -- LTC (R) Robert Barrow shared the news of Allison "Paige" Huckabee winning a Leadership Award presented to her by the Center for Advanced Technology at Citronelle High School. LTC Barrow told us, "She represents not only JROTC, but all of Career & Technical Education at her school! Wow! Congratulations!"
Cadet Huckabee's accomplishments are outlined in her nomination letter, written by Principal R. Allen Merryman:
"Citronelle Center for Advanced Technology is proud to nominate Allison Huckabee for the 2021 Learning Leading Award. Allison demonstrates her leadership qualities in a myriad of ways. She has been an active student leader at Citronelle since arriving as a freshman. She was a member of the JV Cheerleading Squad during her freshman and sophomore years, a member of the JROTC program since her freshman year and taken all honors and AP courses. She has done all of this while maintaining a 4.23 GPA (weighted) / 3.70 GPA (unweighted). Allison was promoted to the highest ENLISTED position possible in the JROTC program this year and now serves as the Command Sergeant Major for the program as a junior. She has participated on the orienteering team, physical training (PT) team, rappelling, Drill and Color Guard Competition teams."
"Service is an important quality that the instructors at Citronelle High School and Center for Advanced Technology strive to instill into the students and Allison is an exemplary example of this. She began her service to others while in middle school as an Ambassador for North Mobile County K-8 and was a student helper for both kindergarten and second grade from sixth to eight grades. This service has continued since she has been in high school with participating in community cleanups, passing out lunches at the elementary school during the quarantine and helping feed the homeless during Christmas to name a few."
"Allison is a disciplined young woman who is purposeful in her actions. She sets goals and strives diligently to achieve them. Her desire and drive to succeed will hopefully help her meet her goal of attending the United States Naval Academy and pursue a degree in Oceanography. Her respect for her fellow classmates and teachers is demonstrated in the way she treats others. Due to her excellence in and out of the classroom she exemplifies the districts slogan of “Learning Today. Leading Tomorrow.” In her own words, “…I help freshman learn the drills and skills needed in preparing for freshman drill competitions. In this program it is all about leadership, which helps mold both good and strong leaders.”
Allison Huckabee is an outstanding young woman and model student who exemplifies the “Wildcat Way” in all her actions and is a worthy recipient of this award. "
Great work, Cadet Huckabee, MEGA HOOAH!!!
