CHARLOTTE, NC -- On February 22, 2021, Charlotte-Mecklenburg School returned to in-person classes. On March 4, 2021, with the approval from 4th Brigade, Garinger High School started drill practice. Senior cadets enthusiastically took charged and began to teach Unarmed Stationary Drill. LET I cadets were motivated to learn. By the end of the class, most of the cadets could execute basic facing movements and played “Knock Out.” At the end of class, C/SGT Hannah Grier and C/PFC Marian Dakiwas gave a demonstration on 15 Count Manual of Arms. On the following day, the cadets continued with stationary drill and moved onto Armed Drill. Armed Drill was more challenging. At first, there was a lot of frustration; however, the cadets persevered and left training being able to conduct Order Arms, Present Arms, and Port Arms.
