SAN ANTONIO, TX -- The Pleasanton High School JROTC Eagle Battalion participated in the annual Wreaths Across America Day on 19 December 2020. The Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery has over 160,000 grave sites and the Wreaths Across America invites hundreds of participants to lay wreaths on the gravesites of service members and spouses to honor their service. The Eagle Battalion had the honor of laying 430 wreaths and three cadets were able to pay respects to their grandparents who are buried at the cemetery. The laying of the wreaths was done so with honor and respect. Cadets read the individual's name, branch of service, military awards and their dates of life aloud as an outward expression to honor each service member for their service. This was the second year for the Eagle Battalion to support Wreaths Across America and they look forward to participating for years to come.
