KLEIN, TX -– On November 11, 2020, in recognition of Veterans Day, the Klein Cain High School Army Junior ROTC Hurricane Battalion participated in the 20th Annual Klein ISD Veterans Day Ceremony. Hundreds of veterans and active-duty military personnel joined in person and virtually to be honored for their service and to celebrate Veterans Day. Men and women from the Klein community have served in every war and conflict since the area was settled in the 1840s. A special thank you moment was dedicated the veterans who currently work throughout the school district. Guest speaker and Retired Air Force veteran Colonel Daniel F. Crum addressed the crowd with a special emphasis on celebrating U.S. veterans and specifically on the importance of the community annually honoring local veterans.
District officials ensured all attendees and participants followed CDC and Klein ISD COVID guidelines and protocols. In the current COVID environment, the Hurricane Battalion Cadets felt privileged to be able to personally celebrate Veterans Day and express their gratitude for the service and sacrifice of so many. Veterans from all service branches were in attendance, along with the Klein ISD Superintendent, several State Representatives, area and district judges, and members of the Klein ISD Board of Regents and Board of Trustees.
Each of the five Klein ISD high schools were represented by their JROTC Cadets in the annual ceremony. The school district is comprised of one Army JROTC program and four Air Force JROTC programs.
