SAN JOSE, NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS -- On Tuesday, November 12th, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Anderson, Director of the ROTC program (University of Guam) visited Tinian High School's JROTC to give a presentation during 2nd and 3rd block about the Senior ROTC program and scholarship opportunities offered at the University of Guam. Interested students came in during 2nd block. A brief overview of his presentation: Definition of ROTC, course summary, scholarship eligibility, benefits, typical weekly cadet schedule and training events, and other activities such as Color Guard, Ranger Challenge, and Intramural Sports/Clubs. LTC Anderson guided the students through the process of signing up for the ROTC scholarship. In addition to his presentation, LTC Anderson assisted 1SG Jose King (Ret.) and Cadet Sgt. First Class Marisa King (Bravo First Sgt.) in the promotion of Cadet PVT Isa Reyes. We are immensely grateful for the time LTC Anderson took to come to the Tinian JROTC classroom.
