WICHITA, KS -- The Veterans Day Parade was held this past Saturday and was a complete success. It was one of the largest parades with 83 entries consisting of military personnel and vehicles including Ft. Riley and McConnell AFB, a huge turnout of JROTC cadets from Wichita and Derby many carrying 84 flags that have flown over the United States, Sedgwick County commissioners, Wichita city Council, Spirit, SPEEA, military and civic organizations, band, car clubs, police horse patrol and many other organizations. Near perfect weather; sunny and 72 degrees. Closing remarks by Mayor Longwell, Sedgwick County Chair Dennis, and the Grand Marshall Kenny White. Best entry trophies presented to the USD 259 Color Guard, McConnell AFB, Honor Flight, and 1st Infantry Division.

Major effort by many in planning executing this event. Thanks to all for making it a success. Special thanks to LtCol George, MSgt Sommers and the Blue Aces who have been organizing this parade for the past 16 years.
