LOS ANGELES, CA -- On November 01, 2019 the epitome football game of Los Angeles was played at East Los Angles College, Garfield High School vs. Roosevelt High School. This was the 85th Classic, an annual rivalry of one of the largest football rivalries in the country featuring the community of East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights.

Everyone in the community and abroad wait a whole year just for this rivalry with over 25,000, fans, players, and Alumni in attendance. Each year Garfield High School Army JROTC Elite Color Guard, Saber Team, Armed Drill Team, and Recondo Team plays an intricate part in the rivalry Classic game, from the opening ceremony, presentation of the homecoming Royal Court and our Recondo Team pumping out pushups in the end zone when the Garfield High school football team scores. Victoriously to say, Garfield High School kept its 9 game winning streak alive by defeating Roosevelt High School 25 to 0. Go Bulldawgs.
