FORT WORTH, TX -- The Diamond Hill-Jarvis high school JROTC Eagle Battalion led middle school students from Meacham Middle School in a STEM project about static electricity. The Meacham students enjoyed the activity which included a written reflection. The activity conducted was the levitating spider, where Cadets use a balloon and a small piece of plastic bag to demonstrate how the same charge of static electricity repels each other. This also gave our JROTC Cadets an opportunity to demonstrate their leadership abilities. The Cadets leaders were Alexa Calvillo (10th grade), Lizbeth Flores (11th grade), Javier Lozano (11th grade), Manuel Luna (10th grade), Alexis Martinez (12th grade), Sierra Perez (10th grade), and Angel Zuniga (10th grade). It was a great event and we are looking forward to next month's STEM activity.
