MG Rob Williamson, U.S. Army, Retired visits Cordova HS JROTC for “Leadership from the Inside Out.” Discussion:

On 29 September 2016, Cordova High School JROTC had the pleasure of having MG Rob Williamson, U.S. Army, Retired from the West Point Society of the Mid-South and COL Bob Wheaton the oldest West Point Retiree Graduate of Tennessee grace our Cadets with a visit.

The purpose of his visit was to reinforce our recent leadership class; “Leadership from the Inside Out.” Cadets were fully engaged while MG Williamson shared some of his perspectives about ethical Leadership. MG Williamson challenged the Cadets to: “Not just cite the Cadet Creed in your classroom but take those words with you and live by them every day.”

The JROTC Program in Shelby County Schools has partnered with several retired West Point Officers to come into our schools and talk to Cadets about leadership.

Cadets from the Shelby County Schools area apply for and have often received West Point Scholarships each year. We currently have 12 West Point Cadets attending the Historical Service Academy.
