Meet Cadet Jin Burgess of Cypress Lake High School:

Jin Burgess is a sophomore at Cypress Lake High School, where she is a member of the swimming team, Scholars Club and the following JROTC teams: Raiders, Drill, Honor Guard (she is the commander) Leadership and Rifle.  Jin has a 4.22 GPA and is a member of the National Art Honor Society.  Her drive and attention to detail have made her the go-to-person when training new team members on their technique.

She aspires to serve her country as a military officer and is actively involved in the community through JROTC and has accrued 55 volunteer hours thus far.  Jin also volunteers working with youth at her dojo, where she is a second degree black belt and she is an active member of the Leo’s Club where the objective is to provide you of the world with an opportunity for development and contribution, individually and collectively, as responsible member of the local, national and international community. Jin plays the flute and piano in her spare time and works 7-12 hours per week.

Jin exemplifies Al Oerter’s saying, “I never set out to beat the world. I just set out to do my absolute best.”  You are always going to get her absolute best!
