The Mansfield High School JROTC presents the colors during opening ceremonies at Globe Life Park.

The Mansfield High School JROTC Color Guard was selected to present our nation's colors during opening ceremonies at Globe Life Park on May 12th, as the Rangers opened their 4-game home series with the Kansas City Royals. The members of the military-style team were C/CSM Jeffrey Butters, C/2LT Cameron Martin, C/SGT Shania Lusk and C/SGT Zackery Quintana. The team was grateful to Rangers Guest Relations for helping to coordinate their appearance.

The team was treated exceptionally well by the Texas Rangers organization, who us with provided dressing rooms, field access for rehearsals, and even an escort to see to the needs of the color guard members afterward. According to Sergeant Major Butters, the event "provided us a unique experience to remember our roles and to do things in the larger community".

When asked about the logistics of such a large event, Butters said, "We learned that such a large scale sporting event requires precise timing and for everything to fall into place at the right time".
