Cadet CSM Jonathan Ta Selected as Presidential Scholar:
The United States Presidential Scholars Program is "one of the Nation's highest honors for high school students" in the United States of America. It was established in 1964 by executive order of the President of the United States to recognize and celebrate distinguished American graduating high school seniors.
Each year, the United States Department of Education and the Presidentially appointed White House Commission on Presidential Scholars selects, from around 3 million graduating high school seniors, up to 141 students as U.S. Presidential Scholars (121 in the academics and 20 in the arts). Out of the 19 Presidential Scholars selected from Clark County School District, the fifth largest school district in the nation, one is a Valley High School JROTC cadet.
CSM Jonathan Ta is student in the International Baccalaureate program, the Viking Battalion CSM, a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, Theater, Community Service Club and a Valley High School men’s dance group.
Congratulations to Jonathan Ta on this outstanding achievement!!
