Cadet/SGT Clayton Scarborough, a sophomore at Dodge
County High School in Eastman, GA was recently presented the MSG David K. Thuma – Iron Thuma Award. The award was presented by CSM (Ret) Steve Greer.
The Greer Foundation presents this special award to individuals who display the characteristics of Master Sergeant David K. Thuma - incredible stamina, superior fitness, energy, and strength. MSG Thuma was a remarkable Special Forces soldier who died in Kenya, Africa in 1998 while on deployment with his Special Forces SCUBA detachment.
Cadet Scarborough maintains a 4.0 GPA and also received the Academic Excellence Award, American Legion - Athletic Excellence Award, Cadet Challenge Gold Medal for 1 Mile run & Sit ups, and the Varsity Athletic Ribbon (Cross Country, Wrestling, & Track).
