Abraham Lincoln High School JROTC Instructor recognized as Coach of the Year:

Master Sergeant Mark Beasley, a JROTC teacher at Abraham Lincoln High School, was previously recognized as the John Lynch Foundation's Coach of the Year, 2016. This foundation, founded by All-Pro football player John Lynch, recognizes students and coaches who achieve excellence both in the classroom and on the sports field.

On May 6th Master Sergeant Beasley, in a ceremony held at the Denver Broncos Sports Authority Field, was selected as the John Lynch Foundation COACH OF THE YEAR! This award, which has always gone to coaches of high-profile sports such as football and basketball, went to Mark due to his coaching excellence and fierce commitment to kids in the classroom.

Under his supervision, his shooting team finished third in the Army JROTC National Shooting Championship and competed in the Multi-Service JROTC Shooting Nationals. The Honor Platoon that Mark coaches competed in the Army JROTC Drill National Championships; between these two events, Mark coached two of the top JROTC competitive teams in the world.
